The Denver Preschool Program makes quality preschool possible for all Denver families with 4-year-old children through a dedicated sales tax first approved by voters in 2006 and renewed and extended in 2014. DPP has provided more than $79 million in tuition support to help more than 41,000 Denver children attend the preschool of their families’ choice, establishing each child’s foundation for lifelong learning and success. All Denver families with a 4-year-old can access DPP's tuition assistance —regardless of income or neighborhood. Tuition assistance is provided on a sliding scale so that families with the least amount of income receive the most monthly credits, which can be applied their program of choice. You can request a free evaluation at any time to answer questions about your child’s development, and determine whether your child may benefit from the EI services and supports offered through the EI Colorado program for child birth to three. Invest in Kids brings two proven programs into communities across Colorado: Nurse-Family Partnership and The Incredible Years. Nurse-Family Partnership is a free, voluntary program that partners first-time moms with specially trained nurses who make in-home visits throughout pregnancy and the first two years of the child’s life, offering the knowledge and support needed to confidently create a better life for the entire family. The Incredible Years serves families of preschool and kindergarten children by building social-emotional health in classrooms and at home, contributing to a child’s successful development by promoting positive parent, teacher, and child relationships.
The Junior League of Denver is a women’s training organization that develops civic leaders committed to improving our community. The League is currently working to improve literacy rates in the Denver metro area, for children from birth through third grade. Founded in 1918, the League started many well-known Denver institutions including the Children’s Museum of Denver, the Mile High Transplant Bank and the Red Rocks concerts.
Laradon’s Family, Infant and Toddler (FIT) program provides early intervention services to children birth to 3 who are either born with a developmental disability or are at risk of a developmental delay. Our
team consists of an Occupational Therapist, Bi-lingual Speech / Language pathologist and an Early Intervention Teacher that provide weekly in-home therapy sessions that promote communication, school readiness and literacy. We now have a Family Navigator to help families learn how to access additional resources and to help with transition to preschool.
Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Family Literacy Program is breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty by building the literacy skills of whole families—parents and their children. By emphasizing learning within a family context, the Family Literacy Project enhances the relationships between parents and children and strengthens parents’ roles as supporters of their children’s education.

The mission of Focus Points Family Resource Center is to help build better communities by strengthening families. Focus Points’ goals are to provide specialized programming and support that help low-income, primarily Spanish-speaking families become self-sufficient, enjoy an enhanced quality of life, become able to fully participate in their communities and to support their children in gaining the skills they need to be ready for school.

Hope Center is an early childhood education program dedicated to meeting the needs of children ages 2 ½ to 5 years . Hope provides educational and extended care to children with special needs, gifted and who are considered at risk based on specific factors.
Through the gift of books we can help ​young children develop of love of learning, inspire their imaginations and prepare them for success in school and beyond! Imagination Library of Denver (ILD), through partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, mails a free book each month to children ages 0-5 in limited ares of Denver. As more funding is secured ILD will expand our service areas. Dolly Parton Imagination Library has mailed 60 million books nationally. Approximately 700,000 children are registered to receive a book each month. The Dollywood Foundation helps fund administrative costs for the program and offers books to replicated programs like ours at a discounted cost.

Through our best known program, the All-America City Awards, National Civic League is shining a national spotlight on early childhood reading and school readiness. Headquartered in Denver, we are giving people from communities across the country a unique opportunity to share their ideas and programs that illustrate the importance of community involvement and parent engagement in helping children to read. In 2017, the All-America City awards will recognize communities making a difference in the third-grade reading ability of low-income children.
Parent Possible (formerly Colorado Parent & Child Foundation) equips parents with tools and information to be their child's most valuable teacher, trainer, and mentor in life. We promote and oversee delivery of proven parent engagement programs Parents as Teachers (PAT), Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY), and Vroom throughout Colorado. We provide access and support, ensure efficacy and impact, and advocate and collaborate with early childhood partners across the state.

Reach Out and Read Colorado is a prescription for literacy. We prepare Colorado’s youngest children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to give brand new books to children at well-child visits from 6 months to 5 years of age, and to prescribe daily read-aloud time for families.

Clayton Early Learning provides national leadership to advance the field of early childhood education by researching, implementing and disseminating innovative teaching models. We promote educational equity for young children through family engagement, teacher preparation, and effective early education policy. We directly serve over 600 children in our two schools and impact about 10,000 children statewide through training and coaching. Denver's alliance with the National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI) and its statewide Affiliate network follows a mission "to advance and improve the lives of Black children and their families through education and advocacy" with a vision for a society that ensures a successful future for all children. The Denver Affiliate is currently running NBCDI's evidence-based programs (Raising A Reader and Good for Me!Health and Wellness) for ages 3-5 years old in its designated communities.
Bright by Three is a Colorado-based, statewide nonprofit organization that provides parents and other caregivers of children aged 0-3 with the tools needed to promote a child’s readiness for lifelong learning and success. Bright by Three serves more than 40,000 children and families each year across Colorado through a 3-year, phased program designed to empower parents, engage children, and develop social, emotional and cognitive skills needed for school readiness and lifelong learning. Bright by Three’s research-based program is delivered in collaboration with 700 partner agencies across the state. The program is offered through individualized, interactive communication in homes, in groups, and via digital technologies.

Since 1973, the Children’s Museum of Denver has served the metro-Denver community as a learning institute dedicated to the education and growth of young children, newborn through age 8, and their caregivers.
